An 11-year-old girl came to Crisis Care due to a suicide attempt earlier in the week. She had been struggling significantly with her parents and stressors at home. The client was able to open up in session while in Crisis Care and stay the night to help stabilize her suicidal ideation. This counselor was able to explain the seriousness of what the client was going through with her parents and her parents were able to understand new ways to support the client moving forward. The client and her family had a family session prior to discharge to help address issues at home moving forward as well as review a safety plan. The client left Crisis Care significantly de-escalated and with more hope for the future and changes that could be made at home.
