Catholic Social Services – Uplifting Parents
Gina moved to Rapid City to pursue her degree in general studies while working the night shift at Black Hills Works. As a single parent new to the area, she had no support network and no one to turn to for guidance or encouragement. Through Uplifting Parents, she was paired with a mentor who became her primary source of support. The program provided the human connection she needed to stay in school during a difficult transition. With consistent mentoring and access to resources, Gina was able to balance work, school, and parenting. She credits the program with giving her the stability and encouragement to keep going when she felt alone.
