Prairie Hills Transit
Jane is the kind of lady that anyone would want to be their friend, because she’s not just a usual, run-of-the-mill friend; she’s a super-friend. She is the most selfless person that Dispatch has ever encountered in the thousands of trips they schedule on a weekly basis. You see, Jane is always thinking about others and never herself. At almost 80 years old, age doesn’t slow her down one bit. Even though she has had her fair share of medical problems over the years and is unable to drive, she still finds it in her heart to help anyone she is able to, and Prairie Hills Transit is her means of transportation to do so. For instance, last year we transported Jane and her neighbor, who is in a wheelchair, to HomeSource Furniture to pick out a new bed for the neighbor. They made this trip 2 different times, with Jane pushing the neighbor around the large store and trying out beds to make sure her friend was comfortable with the purchase. Jane also visits a friend and former neighbor, who is now in a local nursing home, on a weekly basis. We know how much this benefits and uplifts the spirits of her friend; however, just yesterday, Jane made a comment to one of the dispatchers about how the friend is “…such a bright spot in my day.” Without Prairie Hills Transport, these 2 people would not be able to brighten each other’s day.
