Lost and Found Assoc. – Campus Connections

Black Hills State University demonstrated strong demand for mental health education and peer support throughout the academic year. Lost & Found responded to requests for Bystander Intervention, Mental Health Foundations, QPR (Question. Persuade. Refer), Boundary Setting, and Coping/Self-Care training. These sessions prompted additional student outreach for mental health resources and sparked increased interest in Peer2Peer mentoring and campus chapter programming. As a result of this engagement, BHSU leadership, including the Dean of Students and the new Transition Coordinator—requested Lost & Found’s support in developing a new mentoring program for all incoming students modeled after Lost & Found’s best practices. This partnership will expand referral pathways beyond counseling services to include multiple campus departments, strengthening student leadership, peer connection, and access to mental health support across campus.
