CASA 7th Circuit
A volunteer was able to support a mother working hard toward reunification who had deep mistrust of Department of Social Services. This mistrust was making DSS suspicious of the mother's actions/intentions. Once the CASA was able to identify the challenge and help get the mother connected with and advocate of her own, through her tribe, then the mother was able to participate in reunification activities and build trust with DSS and the courts.
