Children's Home Society of South Dakota – Clinical Outpatient Services
The children we serve struggle with emotional regulation. This can be due to a variety of reasons including trauma, abuse and neglect and/or mental health concerns. The Zones of Regulation group was offered for six weeks. Attendees were all boys, ages 6-10 with 15-16 boys per session. The feedback was positive: “It was fun” “I learned to name my feelings” “Coping skills help me when I am mad” "I can tell my teacher what color I am so I can take a break when I need one." "I liked the group, we learned lots of stuff and played with cool fidget toys." "I hope we can do more fun groups."
