A young man who endured severe sexual, physical, and emotional abuse beginning in early childhood was later placed with his father, where ongoing verbal abuse continued. As a teenager, he survived two sexual assaults; the adult offender was criminally convicted and incarcerated. Despite this trauma, he demonstrated remarkable resilience, maintaining strong academics, excelling in athletics, and earning a college sports scholarship. At 18, he independently sought therapy through CSS. Through counseling, he has developed healthy coping skills, set boundaries, and built supportive relationships. He reports feeling more confident, stable, and prepared for independence. He credits counseling with helping him move forward and reclaim his life.
