Catholic Social Services – Access to affordable Counseling Services

A woman in her mid-20s endured chronic physical and emotional abuse and neglect throughout her childhood. Her father, struggling with severe addiction, exposed her and her siblings to extreme neglect. At age five, the client suffered a serious injury from her father. Her father is now incarcerated for murder. The client experienced periods of homelessness and left school in ninth grade due to overwhelming anxiety. Despite this, she has shown exceptional resilience. She has no history of substance use, independently pursued counseling through CSS, earned her GED with high scores, and was accepted into a prestigious higher education program. Counseling has helped her process her trauma and build confidence. She is committed to breaking generational patterns and serving as a role model for her three younger siblings.
