Catholic Social Services – Access to Affordable Counseling Services
This client has been seen by a counselor at Catholic Social Services for almost two years. During this time, she shared an extensive history of trauma from her childhood and into her adulthood.
She has one teenage daughter and is a single mom who works two jobs to provide for her family. While many of her family members have turned to drugs and alcohol, she wanted a different narrative for her daughter.
She has achieved sobriety and has chosen to self-reflect, change, and grow and, ultimately, heal from the trauma she endured. This has taken many years, and she would say she is still a work in progress; however, the strides she has made is nothing short of miraculous.
She has chosen to work to break the cycle for herself and her daughter.
