Catholic Social Services-Access to affordable Counseling Services

A woman, overwhelmed by intense work stress, attempted suicide. This crisis brought her to counseling, where she began to confront the deep pain, she had been carrying. Through therapy, she came to the realization that she was not at fault. This understanding was a crucial step in her healing process. Over the course of four months, she worked through her trauma, gaining the support and tools she needed to move forward. Along the way, she also uncovered the effects of being a victim of sexual violence, both in her early life and as an adult. While these revelations were painful, they were part of a journey to health and greater freedom. By the end of her therapy, she had achieved the peace she needed by being able to contextualize trauma and address regrets for time lost.
