Young Writers 3rd Grade Contest
Who:
Any 3rd grader in the Black Hills
What:
Write a short story (300 words max.), illustrate and write a comic/graphic novel, (300 words max.), or write a poem based on one of two themes: What gives you strength ‘like an eagle’? or How does the artwork in this story inspire you?
Submission Window:
September 15th-October 15, 2025
Prizes:
Every 3rd grader who enters the contest will receive a free ticket to a Rush game, this season. Plus, each first-place winner in every category will get a special visit from Nugget at school, and they will win a 4-person family pass to a RUSH game, center ice seats! Additional prizes in store for second and third place winners, plus honorable mentions.
