Your Generosity in Action
Thanks to your support, United Way of the Black Hills is proud to share real stories — told in the words of our partners — that show how your generosity is making a difference every day.
C.O.R.E.- Community Organized Resources for Educating Youth-Freshman Impact
Southern Hills teens who attended a Freshman Impact teen risk-reduction program last year stated the following on program evaluations:
“It will help me make better choices in my life.”
“I will never drink or do any form of illegal things. I’ve always told myself that it’s never worth it to drink or smoke and the consequences I could get from it would never benefit me. So, I’ve made it my goal to never do it.”
“I will be a safe driver and be careful who I talk to online.”
“I knew the effects (of drinking) but seeing (those effects) will make me not do that.”
“It helps emphasize the gravity of real-life consequences in a tangible manner.”
“This day has it home. Three individuals I’ve known have died in vehicle crashes, with the most recent being in March. Thank you for putting this program on.”
“I loved all the different activities, and I learned more than I knew before so it really helped me.”
“Continue the program to save lives.”
Thanks to generous donors like you, United Way of the Black Hills is able to make stories like this possible!
