2-1-1 Helpline Center
A young woman dialed 211 after learning about the resource through an online training. She told the 211 Specialist that she recently lost her dad to cancer and she was struggling with dealing with the grief.
The 211 Specialist accessed the resource database and provided the caller with three counseling agencies she could reach out to. The 211 Specialist also explored possible grief support groups, but at this time, the caller declined those referrals.
At the end of the call, the woman shared her gratitude for having someone take the time to listen to her concerns and offer her resources to help her process her grief.
