Your Generosity in Action
Shaynna made an offer to buy a home in Hill City, and it was accepted. Shaynna faced two major but solvable problems with the home: the house didn’t have an occupancy permit and Shaynna didn’t have enough cash for a down payment.
Buying a home can be a complicated endeavor, and that keeps a lot of community members from ever owning their own home. Shaynna went to NeighborWorks® Dakota Home Resources for help. After just a 30 minute meeting with a housing counselor, Shaynna had applied for funding to assist with her down payment and learned how to get an occupancy permit. The loan was approved and she received the occupancy permit. Shaynna is now a proud homeowner.
This is just one story of one life changed. UWBH supports more than 40 different nonprofits serving the Black Hills and each one has hundreds of stories of lives changed thanks to your donation to UWBH.
