Impact in Rapid City

Wellfully-Wellspring Inc. dba Wellfully Annual community impact grant

A young female recently returned to the Wellfully Crisis Care Center, marking her second stay with us. During this visit, our counselor was able to compare her progress since her previous stay several months earlier and was encouraged to see significant improvements. The family had taken proactive steps based on the recommendations from her first visit, demonstrating the impact of our program. With guidance from our team, the family had collaborated with the youth’s school to identify safe adults who could support her in implementing her safety plan when she experienced panic attacks or suicidal thoughts. They also successfully addressed a bullying issue that had been a significant source of distress. The young woman reported feeling more confident and resilient when dealing with peer conflicts, a testament to her growth and the efficacy of the interventions. During this visit, our counselor worked with the client to address new challenges that were contributing to her anxiety and suicidal ideations. A group session with the family revealed underlying dynamics at home, including unsafe situations caused by her sister’s behavior. Our team provided targeted interventions, connecting the family to anger management therapy for her sister and establishing clear, actionable goals to improve family communication and reduce conflict. The family left with a renewed sense of hope and a structured plan for maintaining a healthier home environment. Based on the progress observed since their initial visit, we are confident they will continue to implement these strategies, ensuring ongoing growth and stability. This success story illustrates the transformative power of the Crisis Care Center in fostering resilience and healing for both youth and their families.
