The Salvation Army of the Black Hills
Our case worker, Ashley, recently met Alley — a single mother who arrived in Rapid City from New Orleans after fleeing a domestic violence situation.
Alley had hoped for help from her family, but when that support fell through, she reached out to local resources for assistance. Another organization successfully secured housing for her and her children, and Ashley provided vouchers for clothing and household items, including warm winter wear for the cooler climate.
Ashley was impressed by Alley’s determination and resilience. Despite arriving with almost nothing, Alley tirelessly sought out community resources to build a safe and stable life for herself and her children in Rapid City.
